Book a Buzz Session for your Creative Business
In 2014 The Ruby Orchard team ran a series of Creative ‘In store’ workshops. These workshops taught creative business owners how to approach shops, price products for wholesale, create great catalogues and use social media to grow the business. I already have a waiting list for our 2015 workshops. However, the launch of our new site and online store… and life in general has made it hard to schedule a workshop in the first half of this year.
So I am instead able to offer small, creative business owners a 90 Minute buzz session. The session can be moulded to suit the individual’s needs and can cover a range of topics required for that business:
Business related topics
Your business action plans, projections and goals
Planning ahead to achieve more than just daily tasks
Product related topics
Review and discuss your products
Review your costings, Pricing your products for wholesale, wholesale pricing formulas & retail prices
Review & discuss your catalogues, order forms and your terms and conditions
Retail related topics
Action planning for selecting shops, approaching shops and how to pitch to owners
What to do if a shop places an order
Consignment pros and cons and offering exclusivity to stores
How to build relationships with retailers
Marketing Related topics
Social media mapping and scheduling
Making shops work for you
Instagram – an intro
Using Facebook effectively to grow your online presence
Using facebook boosts – how to, the costs, why, the effectiveness?
Pinterest – an intro
Reasons why you should write a Blog
Taking great photos, using simple editing tools to brighten and lighten your photos
Creating photo collages and Facebook covers
I am by no means an industry expert or qualified in this field, but I will make you think outside the box, look at and be honest about your products and services from a retailer’s point of view and advise you on how social media can be used to grow your business.
A few weeks ago I met with Shannon owner of Such Fun. Shannon designs and puts together brilliant themed party packs. She is also the creator of the brand new buzz board range for organising and rewarding little ones. Shannon had been reading my business related blog posts and after reading the pros and cons of consignment got in touch to book a session. Shannon wanted some fresh eyes on her products, some ideas for launching her new products, a re-look at her pricing for wholesale and advice for approaching retailers.
This morning I had a great session with Chantell owner and creator of Designer Kidz Homemade Decor, we reviewed her goals, looked at pricing of products and reducing her costs to allow her to start wholesaling. We also discussed marketing strategies and wrote a list of priority steps to take her business to the next level.
